Using Outside Content in Memory Mixer

Picture
You can use any scrapbooking products from any store in Memory Mixer. You can even use templates/quickmixes designed for similar programs. This means you can take advantage of the many freebies we find on Digi Scrapping Freebies! Basically if you haven't bought it from the Memory Mixer store and installed it in the program it's called "outside content".

The only  things that don't work in Memory Mixer are photo masks and templates designed for Photo Shop (.psd files) but we do have ideas for making use of those templates in another tutorial.

Follow these steps to use outside content:

Open a new "from scratch " album. Select the backgrounds menu and choose Custom

Use the arrows to find the folder you want on your computer, select the background and click OK. Remember you can use ANY jpeg as a background so you can use photos as well as papers.

The background you've chosen will appear on your workspace. Now select the Embellishments menu and click on Add Embellishment.

Click on Browse Other

Use the arrow at the top to browse for the embellishment you want, click on it and click OK.
Close the embellishment window.

The embellishment will appear in the middle of your page. Click on it to drag it where you want on the page. I added a drop shadow.

The background and cute kitten are from CatDesignz' Pretty Kitty Cat kit available HERE. If you buy kits from MyMemories download the General Files unless it's a template. We show you how to add My Memories templates to Memory Mixer in the tutorial HERE.
