Using an "Outside Template" in Memory Mixer

Picture

You will see lots of templates designed for use in Photoshop/PSE/PSP etc and be told you can't use them. You CAN use them but as a temporary background which will allow you to position photos and other elements exactly as the designer intended or you might want to use them as a springboard for your own ideas. We often have free templates on the Digi Scrapping Freebies group so you can try this technique without spending any money!

This technique works in My Memories too but the screen will look different. There is a MyMemories tutorial using a different template HERE.

We're going to make a page like this. If you don't have any "Magical Vacation" photos you can use a star or other shape instead of the mouse head and any photos you like. These photos are poor quality as they were in a waterlogged album but my family still love the page.

The kit is Simply Magical by Ettes and Company by Annette and you can find it in the Memory Mixer store HERE.

The design is based on a template by Wyld Peas Design that was offered free on the MouseScrappers forum in March 2013.

How to do it

The tutorial pages are in the gallery HERE. Click on the first image to make it fill the screen then use the arrows at the top to work your way through the tutorial. If you need help please ask on the Digi Scrapping Divas group.
